Classic Oriental style refers to an elegant use of technique, movement patterns, musicality, nuance and a deliberate use stage space. These dance and theatrical elements were incorporated and developed for the stage presentation Egyptian Folkloric dance by Mahmoud Reda and Farida Fahmy in establishing the Reda Troupe. Through this influence and lineage of teaching, it has come to inform Oriental dance (bellydance). Many of these nuances and techniques are infused into Oriental dance training and performance in order to create that “elegant” “clean” “classy” expression in both solo and group performance.
In this class we will learn some the stylistic elements which will contribute to enhancing the “classy” expression of your dance. The combinations shared in this class can be paired with your favorite Classic Egyptian songs, reordered, personalized and embellished to your elegant timeless expression!
